The low down:

Runs every day (except Christmas Day), ?minimum 2 passengers, moderate level of fitness required for native forest walks. Our full day excursion goes first to the Arataki Visitor Information Centre situated within the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park. The out of this world panoramic views from the sweeping decks extend from the Tasman Sea to the Pacific Ocean. Take in the area’s history and admire the magnificent traditional Maori carvings that stand guard there. We then walk you through an area of Auckland’s coastal rainforest where you will learn about the local flora and fauna with its giant tree ferns growing alongside picturesque streams in regenerating rainforest, and also experience an area of untouched original rainforest with mature 1,000-year-old kauri trees. Our tour then continue further west with our Kiwi guide to the wild and rugged west coast where you get to experience the remoteness of the area.  You then get the opportunity to stroll on a stunning beach and experience the uniqueness of the soft black sand and the clear ocean breeze. After this we shall make a quick stop for a late lunch at a local café and try some traditional Kiwi treats. Before our tour has concluded we will stop at one of the many wonderful wineries in the area for a cheeky wine tasting before we head back into Auckland city.
